Animo Jackie Robinson Charter High School was opened in 2006 Green Dot Public Schools for students in 9th through 12th grades. The curriculum of the school is college prep with the school focusing on preparing students to enter college after graduating high school. The curriculum is challenging and provides students with a blend of technology in their core subjects. The school prides itself on providing a safe environment where students can become productive members of society while learning responsibility and decision making skills.

Along with core subjects, the school provides extra curricular activities including book club, art, breakfast club, community service, college prep, cooking club, gamers unit, drama, E board, martial arts, JR club, music, math club, photo club, pep squad, pre-med, senior club, spirit club, yearbook, and social justice film. Sports offered at the school include cross-country, football, soccer, basketball, softball, track, physical education classes, and baseball. After school programs include fashion design, boxing, tutoring, gaming, cheerleading, guitar, drivers ed, anime, photography, Latin dance, anime, and credit recovery.

Students really enjoy attending Animo Jackie Robinson Charter High School as the teachers give you the attention you need and care about your problems. They always listen to your concerns and help in any way they can to ensure your success. Students expressed that attending the school is more like being around family than attending a school. Parents are glad the school is in their community and providing an alternative to traditional school settings. They stated that their children are doing much better and actually want to attend school.

The Academic Performance Index showed that Animo Jackie Robinson Charter School had growth improvement in academics. The California Standards Tests were quite sporadic going from below state average to average to above average. Of course, this is not a bad sign at all. It would still be best if you take a tour of the school to make sure; it is a good fit for your child.
