Accelerated Learning Charter School opened their doors in 1999 to provide advanced students in grades pre-kindergarten through 6th grade with exceptional educational opportunities. The school provides individual attention with a core curriculum, which is supported by acceleration and enhancement. The school expects the behavior of every student to be of high standards, which aids in providing an exceptional learning environment for all students.

The staff and educators expect and ensure that these standards are seen throughout the school with emphasize on responsibility, independence, accountability, and positive social attitudes in every aspect of the students life.

This charter school uses a very unique curriculum based on the Montessori curriculum, which was designed to encourage and ignite interest in learning as well as provide the desire to learn.

This curriculum is believed to help children succeed when given a bit more freedom to choose the activities of their choice, but in a strict learning environment. This allows students to enjoy hands on experiences. The educator does not only provide the basic academic needs but also the entire development of each child.

The classroom itself is completely different from other public schools in that students are not necessarily placed in groups of same class or same age. The Primary classroom offers an education for children ages 3, 4, and 5, while the lower elementary class will have children in grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and the upper elementary class will have 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.

This structure allows students to work at their own pace without the pressures often seen in one grade classrooms. This will help students excel in the subjects of interest along with developing a stronger bond between classmates as well as the teacher. The teacher will stay with the same group of students for all three grades, which aids in helping each student on a more personal level.

The curriculum does meet all Arizona State Standards and may exceed some recommendations. Parents enjoy the way their children excel and grow beyond their expectations in a caring and nurturing environment.
