An “A” rated free public charter school, Academy Del Sol is a K-8 school that offers , where students receive a well-rounded education that not only focuses on academics but also fine arts. The highlight is the social and behavioral education it offers, which is believed to help students excel in their academics.

Home of the Firebirds, Academy Del Sol came had come into existence in 2009. Ever since, the school has held the promise of excellence and has continuously yielded proficient AIMS results (Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards). This is the reason the school has always run at maximum capacity and currently enrolls 280 students.

Subjects like mathematics, science, reading and writing are explicitly taught on a daily basis at Academy Del Sol. Social sciences and humanities are part of the curriculum. The practical life education teaches children important attributes that will stand them in good stead for life: courtesy, grace, nutrition, food preparation, budgeting, shopping, organization, time management, meeting people etc.

With an extended school day that is longer than other schools by 45 minutes, Academy Del Sol ensures that the academics are not short changed to make place for their important fine arts program, which includes art and music. Their summer school offers both academic and extracurricular activities for 4 weeks in summer. Both educational and fun field trips are a part of the education at this school.
