Specific Immune Defenses
When a pathogen evades the bodys nonspecific immune defenses, it then encounters the specific immune response.
The cellular and noncellular components of the specific immune system work together to destroy foreign invaders. Because it is both specific and diverse, our immune system is able to respond to millions of different pathogens.
In this Lesson, we'll introduce the components of the specific immune response and look at their specific roles in fighting infections. Then we'll look at what happens when the immune system doesn't work properly.
