The College Board, which owns the SAT and PSAT, announced a new test will be available to schools next fall. This new test will be aimed at eighth graders and is only for instructional use and not for college admissions preparation. However, critics are dubbing it the “pre-pre-pre SAT,” and point at the potential for the test prematurely push the college race into younger and younger children.
The test will cost less than $10 and the results will only be shared with teachers, parents, schools, and students. The College Board cites that a large number of schools have expressed a strong interest in the new test.

Doesn’t ACT already have this called the EXPLORE? One theory: it helps to differentiate among gifted kids even at the elementary level.
It is good that we can explore about students like & dislike about the subjects. Help them to overcome fear if they fail & underperform in any subject.
Though it is a very simple and conducive to conduct these texts but only area of concern is that it may not put undue pressure on students.
