Hi There

Can you check that for me or fix it please ASAP. Thanks.

Overview

  • This course will teach you how to write application essays—for college, for grad school, for scholarships, for just about anything academic.
  • And the most important rule of writing application essays is … don’t panic! Application essays aren’t nearly as scary as they seem.
  • Schools are not looking for perfect students, or one-in-a-million geniuses, or applicants who flatter them.
  • They are looking for students who are academically and socially prepared to succeed, students who have the talent necessary to succeed in that school, and students who will fit in well with the campus environment.
  • This course will follow this order:
    • Lesson 1: Overview
    • Lesson 2: The Prompt
    • Lesson 3: Choosing a Topic
    • Lesson 4: Outlining
    • Lesson 5: Writing, Part 1 (The Beginning)
    • Lesson 6: Writing, Part 2 (The Middle and the End)
    • Lesson 7: Revision
    • Lesson 8: After You’ve Written
    • Lesson 9: On (Hyper)Competitive Schools
    • Lesson 10: On Specific Fields
  • When in doubt, remember the lesson of the balance beam. As long as you focus on the beam, and not the ground, you won’t fall. Concentrate on the task of writing a good essay, and you won’t have to worry about whether or not you’ll get in.
