Ridgeroad Middle Charter School Review

Ridgeroad Middle Charter School opened in 2003 for students in 7th and 8th grades. The school offers a rigorous curriculum that provides students with the tools needed to enter high school as well as ensure students are ready for the social environment found in higher educational facilities. On average, the school has 460 students enrolled per year. Ridgeroad Middle Charter School offers small class size with 11 students per one teacher. Dedicated teachers and staff work with each student to ensure their success. The school offers special educational tools for impoverished students to ensure they reach their goals.

Along with core subjects, the school also offers a variety of clubs, sports, and extra curricular activities, which include painting, computer arts, chorus, dance, band, basketball, football, cheerleading, physical education classes, volleyball, track, and newspaper.

Parents expressed that they are very pleased with the charter school that is actually giving their students the desire to learn. Teachers and staff are truly dedicated and go out their way to work with each student on a personal basis. Students enjoy going to school and the variety of classes and extra curricular activities offered. The school day is a bit longer than traditional schools; however, this allows students to finish their work instead of taking it home, which is an added benefit to most students.

In the state of Arkansas, the Benchmark exam is used to determine if students are mastering core subjects such as science, math and literacy. When compared to other schools throughout the state, 7th and 8th graders were below state averages, however, marked improvement could be seen over the past few years.

As with any school, it would be best if you took a tour of the school and learned more about the curriculum prior to enrolling your child to ensure that it is a good fit.
