Pomelo Drive Community Charter Elementary Review

Pomelo Drive Community Charter Elementary opened in 2011 to serve students in Kindergarten through 5th grades. The school involves parents as well as the community so that their students can reach their highest potential and be successful.

Along with core subjects, the school offers parents the ease of after school care with the local YMCA. The school offers students activities to participate in including student council. Students would like more activities such as sports like basketball.

Parents are thrilled with the curriculum and the teachers at this school. In addition, the menu is quite impressive with fresh vegetables and a choice of what the students want to eat. The classes are small with an equal number of boys and girls and a balance in ethnicity as well, which many parents stated was refreshing and a great way for their children to learn in a diverse world. Students really like their teachers and learning in a small knit community.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase of 1 point from the previous year to a score of 894. The statewide goal is 800. Parents are pleased with the number and excited that the school is exceeding the statewide goal.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The percentage of students passing the exams was above the state averages for the 2nd through 5th grade exams.

The school is providing students with an education that works for the entire family. Schedule a tour at Pomelo Drive Community Charter Elementary today and speak with the teachers about your child’s future.
