Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy Review

Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy opened in 2006 for students in 8th through 12th grades with an average enrollment of 200 students. The curriculum is based on a college preparatory program. Along with core subjects the school offers a few other activities including painting, photography, film production, dance, basketball, soccer, yearbook, and student council.

Parents are very happy with the school that is helping children become responsible and self-disciplined as well as becoming life long learners. Class sizes are small, teachers are devoted and caring, and the staff is very organized. The curriculum is challenging and teachers expect students to do their best and to work hard in order to succeed. Parents with students that graduated from the school express just how well their children are now doing in college often making straight A’s in all courses.

In the state of Arizona, students must pass the AIMS series of exams in order to graduate high school and receive their diploma in 10th grade. Percentage of students at Northpoint Expeditionary Learning Academy was 100% in reading, 67% percent in science with the state average at 42%, 70% in writing with the state average being 68%, and in math 59% with the average at 60%.

Since all comments from parents and students were positive and the test scores were pretty good, the school seems to be providing all the educational tools students need to become successful upon graduation. It would still be in your best interest to learn more about the curriculum and if the school is a good fit for your child before enrolling.
