NEW Academy of Science and Arts (NASA) – Villa Mariposa Campus Review

NEW Academy of Science and Arts (NASA) – Villa Mariposa Campus opened in 2003 for students in grades Kindergarten through fourth. The school provides hands on, interactive learning that challenges students to do their best. The staff and teachers want the skills learned to help the students, not only in school, but in their lives and community as well.

Along with core classes, the students are exposed to technology. That is done through computer labs and training facilities to ensure each child has an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of technology. The school does not offer extra curricular activities, sports, or student clubs.

Parents love that NEW Academy of Science and Arts (NASA) – Villa Mariposa Campus is geared for every member of the family. There are age appropriate workshops for everyone to succeed. Upon graduation a certificate is given and an opportunity for graduates to share their dreams for themselves as well as their family. Students like that they can obtain the knowledge of how they can help their families as well as their community. This school truly does care and the students realize that. The only complaint is that students cannot participate in sports and clubs, which is a huge let down for many that would like to see more interaction between students.

The Academic Performance Index was not available at this time.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The results were not available at this time.

Since test results were not available, it would be a good idea to learn more about the percentage of students that are passing the exams by talking with teachers and staff prior to enrolling your child.
