Mountain Home High School Career Academies Review

Mountain Home High School Career Academies opened in 2003 as a public charter school providing an alternative to traditional schools for students in 10th through 12th grades. The school emphasizes technology throughout the entire curriculum to help students in their performance in written expression, mathematical reasoning, and reading comprehension.

Along with core subjects, the school realizes that social activities and team sports are very important to provide a quality growing experience. The various extra curricular activities offered to students include drama, photography, painting, dance, computer arts, chorus, band, ceramics, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, golf, gymnastics, football, swimming, physical education classes, soccer, softball, track, science & technology, yearbook, student government, and newspaper. Unique clubs that students can join at Mountain Home High School Career Academies unlike other schools in the area include Fire Marshalls, Thespian Troupe, HOSA, NHS (National Honor Society), Planeteers, Skills USA, FCA, Key Club, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), FFA, ART, and FCCLA.

Students enjoy attending Mountain Home High School Career Academies as the teachers are dedicated and provide any help a student may need. Parents expressed they are very pleased with the opportunity to give their children a better education through this school whereas public education has been failing their students. The teachers, staff, and administration work diligently to guarantee that each student has the educational tools needed to succeed and reach their goals.

In the state of Arkansas, students are required to take the Benchmark exam. This exam measures if students are mastering literacy, science, and math. Students at Mountain Home High School Career Academies participated in the exams with most grades testing above average when compared to state averages.

When looking for a school for your children, it is always best to take a tour of the school and to talk with other parents. Learning more about the curriculum and talking with administration should provide you with the information you need to make an educated decision.
