Milagro Charter School Review

Milagro Charter School opened in 2004 to serve at risk students in kindergarten through 5th grades. The main focus of the curriculum is literacy and writing. The student body population is diverse with a population of 84% Hispanic or Latino, 3% African American, 2% White, and 1% Asian.

Along with core subjects, Milagro Charter School offers computer arts, drawing, drama, community service, student council, and academic contests. The sports offered are baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and physical education classes.

Parents only had positive comments regarding Milagro Charter School stating the teachers and staff strive to ensure that each student receives the attention they need to only grow academically but also emotionally. All parents stated that their children are learning and have a great attitude about going to school. Students said they like going to school and their teachers.

The Academic Performance Index showed a decline in academic growth from 912 to 894. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The percentage of students passing the exams was above state average in all grades and all subjects.

The school is providing an exceptional exception in a safe and nurturing environment. To ensure the school is a good fit for your family, you should visit the school and talk with parents that have students enrolled.
