Learning Community Charter School – Four Winds Review

Learning Community Charter School – Four Winds opened in 1996 for grades Kindergarten through 12th. The school offers instructional support for a personalized learning experience for each and every student. Daily instruction is utilized in home as well as in the community. Students are empowered to develop special talents and learn about individual responsibility.

This school follows a Montessori styled curriculum. The students are taught through exploration to create a well-rounded education. Along with core subjects, there is a technical education program, homeless and special education programs.

Parents love that every child is given the chance to learn and succeed at Learning Community Charter School – Four Winds. Parents and teachers work together so that the students are given every opportunity to do their very best. Parents love being that involved. Students are happy with the school, but wish there were sports offered such as basketball.

The Academic Performance Index was not available at this time.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. The results of the exams were not available at the time of this writing.

Since the exam results were not available, it would be in your best interest to learn more about the curriculum as well as learn more about the exams to determine if students are meeting the state standards. You should also learn more about the Montessori Method to ensure the learning environment is one in which your child will succeed.
