Kings River-Hardwick School Review

Kings River-Hardwick School opened in 2001 for students in grades Kindergarten through eighth. The conversion school focuses on education that gets the whole family involved for high expectations and results. Creativity and personal responsibility are also very important. The community as well aids in ensuring the charter school receives the best educational tools to help students succeed.

Along with core subjects, students are exposed to courses in band, computer arts, chorus, dance, drawing/painting theater/drama student council/government, yearbook, science and technology. Athletics include basketball, soccer, softball, baseball and physical education classes.

Parents are happy to be so involved in this school. The teachers are great at helping both parents and students with transitioning into a new school or grade. Students liked that the lessons plans that go outside the classroom. Most parents are very happy with the way their children are learning.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase in academic growth from 843 to 877. The state goal for California is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The students at Kings River-Hardwick School were above the state average with their test scores across nearly all grades and subjects. The only exam where they fell below was 5th grade Science where 47% passed with the state at 60%.

To ensure the learning environment is one that will fit your family; you should take a tour of the school and talk with parents that have children attending. It is always best to ensure the schools you choose is one that will help your child succeed.
