Imagine School at Coolidge Review

Imagine School opened their charter school in Coolidge in 2008 for students in kindergarten through 9th grade. The school offers the same curriculum and character building as other Imagine Schools in the state. Along with core subjects the school offers a variety of extra curricular activities, sports, and student clubs for students to enjoy such as dance, computer arts, chorus, drama, basketball, cheerleading, football, physical education classes, martial arts, softball, volleyball, newspaper, yearbook, debate, student government, and science & technology.

Parents are very pleased with teacher involvement and the way in which all students are treated the equal. The school has all kinds of fun programs for all ages. Students receive the individualized attention they need to reach their goals and truly enjoy going to school. The only complaint is that some parents would like to have more parent involvement via the PTO.

Percentages of students that passed the AIMS series of tests show a different side of the school. Parents stated their children were doing well and excelling, however, 3rd graders were below the state averages in reading, writing, and math. 4th graders were not only tested in these three subjects but also science and were below average across the board. 5th graders were also below average in all tests. Sixth graders on the other hand, were above average in math, but below average in reading and writing. Improvement in testing scores is seen in 7th grade with scores above average in reading, writing, and math. 8th graders made a poor showing in writing and math with below average percentages, reading was about average, and science was above average.

Before enrolling your child in Image School at Coolidge, it would be best to check out the curriculum. It seems the school is below average on the percentage of students that are passing the test.
