ICEF Vista Elementary Academy Review

ICEF Vista Elementary Academy opened in 2008 for grades Kindergarten through 5th. The teachers help to prepare their students for their educational journey through college. They want their students to attend one of the top 100 colleges or universities in the country and excel every step of the way.

Core knowledge is a great foundation to the start of education and the continuation through the years. Along with those subjects, students can choose computer arts, chorus, dance, drawing/painting, basketball, rugby, student council, community service an yearbook. There are even academic contests for students that wish to participate.

Parents are overall impressed with ICEF Vista Elementary Academy. They like the teachers, the values that are taught, the increase in better grades and the parent involvement. One parent did comment on how the school is not prepared for students with special needs.

The Academic Performance Index showed an academic growth from 76 to 817. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The test results for students at ICEF Vista Elementary Academy were mixed across the board. For example the state average for the 5th grade Math exam was 65% and 42% of students passed. For the 2nd grade Math exam, students exceeded the state average.

The test results can always be better and the teachers and staff are working and each day to improve as evident of the API score. If you have any concerns, you should take a tour of the school and talk with other parents that have students enrolled.
