Hiaki High School Review

Hiaki High School also known as Calli Ollin School opened in 2001 for students in 9th through 12th grades as an alternative to public education. This charter school serves 84% Hispanic students which is needed in the area. The school works to instill pride, wisdom, and integrity in the student body as well as preserve the integrity, customs, and values of their people.

The school offers different instructional programs including technology based learning, career development courses, integrated curriculum, on site special education, dual enrollment program, and expeditionary learning.

There is not much information on this school regarding other activities not even on their school website. Parents have not spoken any opinions on the school or these opinions have not been publicized. Overall the schools sounds amazing, however, test scores in past years are not very good at all. In order to graduate from high school, all students that attend a public school or public charter school must pass the AIMS series of tests during 10th grade. The percentages of students that passed the exam in reading over the last few years were only 25% while the state average was 78%. In writing the percentages were as low as 9% with the state average at 68% and in math only 7% with the average at 60%.

Before enrolling your child in Hiaki High School, you should consider learning more about the curriculum and recent test scores. If students are not meeting the standards in order to graduate, then only 7% with the average at 60%.

Before enrolling your child in Hiaki High School, you should consider learning more about the curriculum and recent test scores. If students are not meeting the standards in order to graduate, then it would be best for you to look at other school options.
