Hart-Ransom Academic Charter School Review

Hart-Ransom Academic Charter School opened in 1995 for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th. This school has a unique curriculum that combines home-schooling with traditional classroom teachings. Combining the two creates flexibility and individualized learning while producing optimal results for every student.

Core classes can be administered online through this school as well as in a classroom. Other programs include Spanish, yearbook, writing, Tae Kwon Do, gymnastics, swimming, drawing, painting and clay. There are even technology based classes like robotics and a variety of performing arts courses like band, drama, dance, guitar and ukulele.

Helpful and friendly are what the teachers bring to the table at Hart-Ransom. Parents love that. Homeschooling can be a tough process and the dedicated staff here makes it easy and fun. The classes offered are extensive so there is something for every child, thrilling the parents. The wide variety fits every schedule, every parenting style, and every child.

The Academic Performance Index showed an increase in academic growth from 785 to 797. The statewide goal is 800.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The test results showed a variety of results from higher than the state average to lower and some were even the same. For example, in 5th grade on the Science exam 52% passed and the state average was 60%. 75% of 4th graders passed the English Language Arts exam over the state at 67%. Same subject in 6th showed 48% of students passed which was the same amount for the state average.

Hart-Ransom Academic Charter School combines the best of home schooling with a traditional classroom setup. Parents love it and you just may too. Schedule a tour today and talk to the teachers about your child’s potential future at the school.
