Farm at Mission Montessori Review


Farm at Mission Montessori opened as a charter school in 2011 providing a Montessori curriculum that also offers an outdoor farm based curriculum. The school serves students in 4th through 8th grades with a quality education with a variety of other activities besides core subjects. Extra curricular activities include band, computer arts, dance, drama, and painting. Sports offered include soccer, basketball, martial arts, gymnastics, and physical education classes. Student programs and clubs include science & technology and community service.

Most parents expressed they are pleased with the way their children are learning and excited about going to school. The also stated their children are learning to be self directed learners that are curious about not only core subjects but the world around them as well. Many parents love the family atmosphere with caring teachers and staff. The administration, staff, and teachers are involved with their students and work to ensure that each student can attain their goals while enjoying learning in a safe environment.

Students at Farm at Mission Montessori participated in the AIMS series of tests which is required by students attending public schools including public charter schools in specific grades. The percentages of students that passed or exceeded the exam with the state averages are listed below.

In reading, 93% of 3rd graders passed or exceeded the exam with the state average at 76%, in writing 100% with the state at 59%, and in math 85% with the state at 68%.

In reading, 97% of 4th graders passed or exceeded the exam with the state average at 75%, in science 87% with the state at 60%, in writing 100% with the state at 83%, and in math 95% with the state at 65%.

In reading, 95% of 5th graders passed or exceeded the exam with the state average at 79%, in writing 84% with the state at 55%, and in math 84% with the state at 63%.
