Diamond Mountain Charter High School Review

Diamond Mountain Charter High School opened in 2004 to provide high school students with a learning environment that is more personalized as well as allowing students to attend school through home school programs. The curriculum found at the school is standards based.

At this time, the school does not offer any extra curricular activities, sports, or student clubs.

Parents are happy with the curriculum and the school that allows their children to work at their own pace towards graduation. Many students expressed they graduated early with the courses and help provided by teachers and staff. The school as stated by parents is a much-needed resource in the area and they are very glad that teachers and administration care enough to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 588 to 651.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades.

The majority of the scores for the California Standards Tests were not available at the time of this writing. Among the ones that were available, student percentages were below state averages.

The California High School Exit Exam had the percentage of 10th graders passing the English Language Arts exam at 69% with the state average at 64% and in math 92% passed with the state average at 84%.

Even with the low percentage of students passing the exams, the school is still providing a quality education. In order to make an educated decision regarding enrolling your child, you should take the opportunity to talk with other parents and tour the school.
