Celerity Dyad Charter School Review

Celerity Dyad Charter School opened in 2008 for students in kindergarten through 8th grades. The school provides an alternative to traditional schools with high expectations for each student with encouragement and support from dedicated teachers and staff.

Along with core subjects, Celerity Dyad Charter School offers students extra curricular activities to join such as drawing, computer arts, and dance. Sports offered include physical education classes, soccer, rock climbing, martial arts, and yoga. Other programs students can join include community service, academic contests, newspaper, student council, multimedia, yearbook, and science & technology.

Most parents are truly happy with the school and the teachers stating that the curriculum is outstanding and the school environment is safe and nurturing. Parents expressed teachers are highly qualified and interested in helping each student learn. Students expressed they enjoy going to school and that bullying is not a problem.

The Academic Performance Index showed academic growth from 883 to 888.

The California Standards Tests is used to learn if students are mastering core subjects. The various tests are given to 2nd through 11th grades in English, grades 2nd through 7th are given tests in math, and science tests are administered to students in grades 5th, 8th, and 10th, while history tests are given to students in 8th and 11th grades. Across all grade levels and all subjects the percentage of students passing the exams was above state averages except for 5th grade English Language Arts which was 50% passing with the state average at 63%.

With parents and students mainly happy with the school and the tests scores it shows the school is providing the students with the tools necessary to succeed. You should still visit the school and make a decision if the learning environment is one that will help your child achieve their goals.
