Cambridge Academy East Review

The Cambridge Academy East is a charter school that opened their doors in 1998 as an alternative to public school. The school offers a quality standards based education for students in kindergarten through sixth grades with an average enrollment of 200 students per year.

The school works together with parents and the community to ensure that the needs are met of every student so they can become leaders in society as well as be prepared to enter middle school.

Along with the core subjects, Cambridge Academy East provides extra curricular activities to provide students with more social activities in a safe and nurturing environment. The extra curricular activities include painting, theater, dance, chorus, computer arts, yearbook, community service, student government, newspaper, academic contests, and science & technology. Sports available at the school include cheerleading, physical education classes, soccer, football, and cross-country.

Parents are very pleased with the class size, curriculum, teachers, staff, and the progress they see with their children attending Cambridge Academy. The courses are challenging, teachers are caring, and the learning environment is perfect for students that want to learn and feel important.

Some parents wish there were a few more extra curricular activities, but are still very happy with the way their children are performing academically. A few parents were not happy with the turn over of teachers that may not be familiar with the curriculum, which has caused concerns.

The Cambridge Academy East students participated in the state AIMS testing that measures if students are mastering the skills set forth by the state. The percentages of students at the school that passed or exceeded the standards as well as the average of students across the state that also passed or exceeded the exam are listed below.
