Cabot Academic Center of Excellence (ACE) offers an alternative to traditional schools with internet-based classes. The school provides a project based learning curriculum offering students flexible schedules. The school opened in 2004 for students in 7th through 12th grades and works closely with students that are considered “at risk”. The curriculum offers personalized learning plans in which students can work at their own pace to ensure their success.
The school offer high quality challenging programs where students will develop their talents and strengths with focus on socio emotional development, self-discipline, mastery learning. The school utilizes internet-based classes, small group instruction, distance learning classes, one on one tutoring, and project based learning. By allowing students to work at their own pace, students can also meet all other needs such as working while attending school.
Parents are very pleased with the success of their children attending the school. Students enjoy being able to work at their own pace. The only complaint is that some parents stated their children are not making good of their time. This can and does happen with web-based classes. In order to succeed, students must be committed to doing their schoolwork. Parents expressed that the teachers are highly qualified and help students succeed.
There are no Benchmark test results published, so it would be a good idea to ask more about the results to learn if the school is providing the educational tools needed for students to succeed. You should also talk with teachers and staff; however, if your child is behind in credits or is at risk of dropping out of school, this may be the best solution.
