Aspire Summit Charter Academy Review

Aspire Summit Charter Academy opened in 2001 in Modesto to serve students in kindergarten through 5th grades. The school offers a curriculum that is more personal that ensures each student can learn as well as ensures that students will enjoy learning. Aspire Summit Charter Academy is part of the Aspire Public Schools. Aspire Public Schools are some of the highest rated schools in the nation for top performance serving low-income families.

With Aspire Schools, students are provided with a safe nurturing learning environment that stresses a college education even in the lower grades. The learning environment provides students with a close-knit almost family atmosphere.

The Aspire Summit Charter Academy provides students with various teaching methods, which include explicit instruction, apprenticeship, inquire, project based instruction, distributed practice, massed practice, and problem solving. Along with core subjects, Aspire Summit Charter Academy offers extra curricular activities, sports, and student clubs. These include band, drama, chorus, computer arts, drawing, orchestra, dance, film production, photography, yoga, physical education classes, basketball, yearbook, community service, newspaper, and student government.

Parents are very pleased with the school and are quite involved with some volunteering in classrooms throughout the week to helping with other events. Students are doing quite well and progressing often above their grade level. Teachers and staff are kind and work diligently to ensure that the needs of each student are met so they can become successful and go on to college or a university of their choice. A few parents expressed they like that the school teaches students to use C.A.R.E.S. which stands for cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy and self-control.

The percentage of students Aspire Summit Charter that passed the California Standards Tests was above average except in 5th grade science, which was below average by just a small percentage.

To discover if the school is best for your child, you should visit the school. Talking with other parents and teachers may help you make the best decision for your child’s education.
