Apache Trail High School Review

Apache Trail High School opened their charter school in 2000 to provide students in 9th through 12th grades a quality education as an alternative to public education formats.

The school offers a type special schedule options in the way of black scheduling as well as career and college counseling within the school campus, which offers sports fields, library, and computer rooms. School sponsored trips to college campuses are provided as well as visiting college teachers provide presentations to the student body.

The Apache Trail High School offers a few extracurricular activities, which include media, video production, drama, creative writing, sports for males like soccer, football, basketball, and cheerleading, along with sports for females including soccer and cheerleading.

The school has received awards including Continued NCA Accreditation and CAA Class B Football State Championship.

Students and parents alike like the small classrooms, which allows for more one on one teaching options in a safe learning environment. Some students have experienced a major improvement in grades as well as graduating at a younger age than was expected attending a previous school.

10th grade students at Apache Trail High School took the Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards, which is required by all students attending a public school in the state.

The percentage of students that passed or exceeded the various courses include in reading 57% with the state average at 78%, in science 21% with state average being 42%, in writing 36% and the state average was 68%, and in math 27% with the state average at 60%.

With test scores this low, it would be best to ask more about the scores of previous years as well as the percentages for the current before placing your child in the school. Of course, there are many success stories of students graduating early and attending colleges in the local area.
