Animo Pat Brown High School is a public charter that opened in 2006 to serve students in 9th through 12th grades with an alterative to traditional schools. The school offers a college prep curriculum with teachers that provide unique instruction methods with a challenging curriculum and blends with technology to provide the best high quality education possible. As part of the Green Dot School system the school expect students to do their best and excel with encouragement from teachers and staff. The school is also very encouraging for parents to be involved as much as possible to ensure the success of their children.

Along with core subjects the school offers a few extra curricular activities, which include credit recovery, tutoring, Latin dance, gaming, anime boxing, drivers education, fashion design, anime, weight lifting, photography, cheering, and guitar.

Parents in the community are very happy that Green Dot opened the school as it provides their children with an alternative to traditional school setting. Parents stated their children are now wanting to attend school and see a brighter future, with many considering dropping out of school. Teachers are more like family due to the small class size, so students feel more comfortable talking to them with any problems they may have. The school does not allow bullying and provides a safe environment where students can truly focus on their academics.

The results of the Academic Performance Index, Animo Ralph Bunche Charter High School did not have any growth over the last year. The results of the California Standards Tests was a mix of scores from being a bit below average to above average across the grade levels and the core courses.

From the comments of parents and students, the school is providing a better education than what can be found at traditional schools in the area. However, to ensure you are making the right decision for your child, you should take a tour or talk with other parents that have students attending the school prior to enrolling your child.
