Energy Flow and the Water Cycle

  • The Earth is home to many different types of environments. While the vegetation and animal life found in various locations may be different, the fundamental relationships among organisms are the same everywhere.

  • The energy that sustains life comes from the sun. The solar energy is converted to chemical energy and flows from organism to organism.

  • In this Lesson, we'll look at how energy flows through an ecosystem. We'll investigate the feeding relationships of the organisms in an ecosystem, and see how they help explain the ecosystem's energy flow. We'll also see how water is recycled within and between ecosystems.
