The Lymphatic System and the Blood

  • Our bodies must continually defend themselves against infection, cuts, and bruises. One body system responsible for the body's defenses is the lymphatic system. Without a healthy lymphatic system, we could die from a simple infection or bleed to death from a small cut.

  • The lymphatic system also helps maintain the level of fluid in the circulatory system. Because of its roles, the lymphatic system is tightly associated with the circulatory system.

  • In this Lesson, we'll look at the structure and roles of the lymphatic system. We'll also discuss the different roles of the components of blood.
